Job Summary

The Information Process Coordinator is responsible for the input of all journal entries and direct payment requests into the Banner system for processing by the Accounts Payable department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Enter requests for direct payment into the Banner system.
•Assign a document number to all requests for direct payments and assign a payment date to the direct payment request based on the due date of an item being paid.
•Forward all request for direct payment for which budget funds are not available, based on entry into Banner system to the Accounts Payable Supervisor for further review in accordance with College policies and procedures.
•Enter all approved journal entries into the Banner administrative system for review and posting by Assistant Controller.
•Communicate with various campus departments as necessary to resolve vendor payment issues.
•Print account inquiries and confer and/or distribute to requesting party.
•Provide customer feedback on the status of their payments and provide verification to the bank as to whether a check is valid.
•Provide back up in the absence of the Administrative Assistant
•Track all travel advances to ensure that travel advances made are followed by an approved travel expense report.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma and two years of work experience in a business environment is required. A bachelor’s degree preferred.

This position requires strong customer service focus, excellent communication, verbal and time management skills. Professional demeanor with the ability to interface with internal and external customers with diplomacy and tact is essential.

This position requires basic level skills in specific Microsoft Office applications and may require intermediate or advanced levels in one or more applications (i.e. data entry/keystrokes). In addition to producing correspondence, duties may involve assignments that require creating spreadsheets using formulas, tables, creating newsletters, and the use of Lotus Notes and Banner Financial Module. Requires the ability to type at least 45 wpm and operate a 10 key calculator.
